======================================================================= Ruckus + Lamron Throwing Knives Mod V2 (SpearHead and BreakThrough Versions) ======================================================================= This mod adds knives to the player inventory under the grenade catagory. Primary fire throws the knife and secondary fire stabs with it. You start with 6 knives, you can pick up knives from dead players as long as you still have at least one yourself. Knife hits do 75 damage. Stabs are instant kill. The chat box shows the kills as impaling (BigBob was impaled by LittleBob). *** NEW FOR V2: Players hit with thrown knives now bleed to death with proper kill credit given to knife thrower! If a bleeding player picks up enough healthpacks to get his heath back up to 100%, bleeding stops. *** Knife Selection Knives are in the third grenade slot, so hit your grenade key three times, or USE + Grenade to use them immediately. =================================================================================================== *** CREDITS All credit for the knife model and texture goes to Ruckus. Thanks for a great looking model ! I set up the functional part of this mod and added the option to stab with secondary fire. The knives are given to you along with your pistol (since every player gets a pistol). If another weapon mod is conflicting with this one, add a few "zzzzz" in front of the "server" file. This should effect only the pistols while not conflicting with any other weapon's mods. -Lamron =================================================================================================== *** INSTALLATION The "server" files are specific to SH or BT, because changes were made to the mike_torso.st file. The "client" file is needed for all players to be able to see the knives. It is usable by SH players and BT players The file labeled (SH server) goes into MAINTA (for SpearHead) The file labeled (BT server) goes into MAINTT (for BreakThrough) The file labeled (client) goes into MAIN. Put this file someplace that players on your server can download and put a message to that effect on the server. If you tell them to put it in MAIN it will work when connecting with SpearHead or BreakThough. ==================================================================================================== *** KNOWN ISSUES - You can not pick knives up off the ground if you are completely out. A good tactic might be to not throw your last knife, so you can use it for stabbing and still be able to pick up more. - German skins can not "scroll" to the third grenade slot, they must hit grenade 3 times or use the (USE +Grenade) shortcut. - If a player is standing against a wall and a knife misses but hits the wall very close to him, he may receive one point of damage. ========================== www.LamronsPlayground.com ==========================
